No, but I do remember him being pissed during one contract negotiation because Opie wanted a short term deal thinking they could jump ship to ? for more money while SXM was offering a 5 year deal at the time. I saw the writing on the wall when CBS fell apart. That was supposed to huge for the show's longevity and instead of taking advantage, they took the opportunity to do mediocre shows and ignore staff and management regarding the lack of engagement.
That can't be more than few thousands people listening on satellite right? There's no way I would sub to these shady companies

You’d think as both a man and the 50/50 in this equal partnership Cumia would talk to Opie and say “This isn’t happening and it’s stupid”

But nope. Just shit talk him behind the scenes for a decade straight. I mean, why would you talk to your business partner about business? I mean think about the consequences! Opie might get mad and not look at you for a few days! (This is more important than getting the best terms for your job)

As I've mentioned previously, one morning the copier on our floor was busted so Travis and I had to go upstairs and use that one. Somebody had left a copy of all of the SXM channels and what they charge for taped commercials & live reads. Stern was charging 4x as much for ads and O&A had the same going rate for both spots and live reads as Book Radio. That was my other "a-ha" moment where I realized nobody was listening anymore.

How many subs do you think compound media has realistically?

I’m thankful I never paid for Opie and Anthony or anything related. Imagine subscribing for that garbage show.
I did stand by anths for a few months cause I am a fool and then realized I haven't tuned in once cause he's a bore. I may catch a few shows is he's on YouTube live

was management actually telling them they were fucking up? My recollection from that time was a lot of the Opester bitching that management wouldn't spend massive sums of money on throwing huge events for da show:bhzv6yb:

I guess that was his solution to the lack of engagement.

I don't feel like doing the math on this again, but figure CM grosses $1M a year or $83K/mo. Now add up all the monthly costs involved with it all. If it was just Anthony and a webcam, that's pretty sweet. But, it's not. He's paying for hosting, payment processing, at least two full time employees in the greater NYC area, a midtown studio, internet, electric, equipment, show pay and a ton of stuff I'm not thinking about.

Now, that's assuming 10,000 subs. Does anyone really think 10,000 people are paying for Compound? I'd doubt that. My best guess would be 5500 subs, with his actual take home net being half of his gross, or approx $250K/yr. This would line up with his massive downgrade to South Carolina, and his intent to get rid of the studio in NY. That's a big raise for him. Getting rid of Erik & Garrett would free up even more. Expect layoffs in July.

Absolutely. There was plenty of talk about too much race/Obama talk. Too much Big A news, too much Rock Screaming. Lots of complaining on air about management. You can act all cocky and shit when you're pulling in the ratings, but you're not now, and you're losing affiliates. It only took 4 months to lose every last CBS affiliate. December 2008 to March 2009. Multi city comedy tours in 2006 and 2007. Cancelled in 2008 and erased from traditional air in four fucking months. Personally, I didn't give one fuck, as none of the staff saw anything extra as part of the syndication deal and only created more work. We were full on XM employees doing work for CBS and only getting an XM paycheck while O&A got more $ per affiliate. They lost like 11 stations, but my pay stayed the same. Oh well.

The only time O&A were legit huge was the early 2000’s when they were on WNEW.

But Anthony will swear up and down management had no problem with the race shit. (How would he know? He never talked to the bosses. That was Opies job.)

“ITS FUCKING SATELLITE RADIO! ANYTHING GOES!” Are his actual words. Oh ok that makes sense. So because Satellite will let you say fucking doodoo poopoo asshole they’ll let you scream nigger and racial statistics on air. Thats a simple one to one.

They wouldn’t even allow Bobo and Sandy to mock have sex. Why the FUCK would they be ok with 1920 eugenicist talking points on their airwaves. I fucking hate how stupid he is.

“FIRED FOR SHIT THAT WASNT EVEN ON THE AIR! WELCOME TO BIZARRO WORLD!” But if he got fired for shit he said ON the air he would invent another justification. He’s just such a poor little oppressed victim. FEEL BAD FOR HIM
Too much Big A news
Dude but its fucking hilarious to have a sputtering muttering retard attempt to read a sentence and stretch it out to 10 minutes!!!!! I honest to god wish someone shot that fucking Frankenstein. Potentially the most UNFUNNY shit they’ve ever put on air.

Meh, it was fine the first 2 or 3 times but that's it. Doing that every week was such overkill. Even the master CBS EP Mike STUNTBRAIN Opelka could not wrangle the egos. Great move by CBS btw, hiring a guy in his late 50s to produce hot talk for 25-34 year olds. We really needed that Sarah Palin break, great work dude.

The arrogance of the bbbbbbbboys during that era toward management was hilarious. No, they're not going to give you a renovated studio and throw a massive Comedy Festival for you while they're in the middle of trying to un-fuck a totally dying medium.

They were on a sinking ship bitching about how management didn't have enough budget to give them

Just in case Anthony missed Fox News the night before they had that faggot to jump in and give all the talking points. “Well the thing about Obama is he’s a socialist-“ IS HE??? Fucking boomer faggot.

Remember all the bitching about management not being able to get a second animation festival done? They were fine with another one. Opie demanded a $10,000 appearance fee to show up at the event he demanded be held. Management laughed in his face and that was the end of that.

Constantly stating that they needed a "visual element" was incredibly tedious. Must've really drove home how much Sirius favored Stern over them that not only was every show filmed but he had entire production room just for the visual part of the show.

If true, the Opester really was a walking example of "Comparison is the enemy of joy." Constantly looking over his shoulder, especially in Sirius years, to see what Howie had led to him making unreasonable demands that probably helped kill the Golden Goose.
