the best part is when he starts talking about the other podcasts compound media inspired like legion of skanks then he can't think of another example so he starts repeating the "joe rogan was inspired by compound" omitting that it was live from the compound (even though his audience knows the rogan story so he is lying by omission to?)

this is good shit.

So during that period from when he bought his new house to when his greasy dago heart went on the fritz, why exactly was Nana plowing through thousands of dollars every month to stay in NYC and keep doing CM so half-assedly, if he was just going to bag it all a few years later anyway? Sure, he may be living his best life right now, but before his heart attack, he was going to great lengths to avoid moving to SC, even going so far as to make up insane stories about leaky roofs and big lawsuits. But why? Did he seriously believe he still had a shot at making a real go of it? Or after his heart gave out, did he just become physically unable to do it anymore? The timeline makes no sense.

Unfortunately Compound Media for the most part was a failure due to Anthony not doing smart business, Anthony's ego and Anthony's insistence on publicly broadcasting his racism and other controversial views.

Without Ant's ego odds are he reconciles with Opie and in 2017 Compound Media's leading show is a reunited Opie & Anthony. Compound was still getting some decent guests at the time and Opie & Anthony reforming no doubt would've breathed new life into his business.

If Ant had done smart business he would've made sure Artie Lange stayed on the straight and narrow and that could've been another great addition to his network. Allow Artie to do The Artie Lange show with a co-host.

Opie & Anthony plus an Artie Lange show would no doubt have hooked most lapsed O&A and Howard fans and lead to big money. Oh well...

It was another impulsive, wetbrained decision he made while inebriated. The reality of him being isolated from all of his friends and family and being stuck with that annoying, dykey prostitute in South Carolina didn't sink in until too late. Now he doesn't have the "fuck you money" anymore to take a loss on his new McMansion and go back to civilization. He had to choke back tears when talking about his "Roslyn house" and his pool. The Gavin merger will go nowhere. No one gives a fuck about that lisping Canadian queer who sold out his Proud Boy pals to the feds anymore.

this is good shit.

Live From The Compound somehow entered the O&A lore as a decent effort by Anthony. It wasn't. It was like Saturday Night Virus; it was a hang that was broadcast years before every comedian got the bright idea to fill your playlist with 3 hours per week of meandering low-effort bullshit sessions.

Go back and watch LFtC shows and you'll see it wasn't some golden era for Anthony.

Lol he’s a fucking liar. Joe has said he was inspired by O&A and specifically their ability to let comedians hang out. But sure, can’t give Opie that credit!
