Pat still thinks his Tiny Tim book is going to be published

For an author in his tier, which is mass market paperback junk at this point after Tor gave him a chance in trade paperback and didn't make their money back, its a real bad look to vanish for 4 to 5 years. He's not GRRM or Stephen King.

Scalzi for instance has published I think 4 books in that time? Hell, wife beating enthusiast Jon del Arroz has self-released at least than many in the 4 year gap Pat has spent childing people instead of writing.

Out of sight, out of mind and as Tor found out, he wasn't exactly putting up da numbahs to start. He doesn't write shorts, he doesn't contribute to or edit collections, he doesn't write for the news media or any blogs. He's not writing screenplays or audio dramas or fucking anything. He's a failed author trying to make a comeback at this point and has nothing anybody wants to buy in his fat pudding filled head.
Just the fact he hasn’t had any paid freelance type writer work for years shows he doesn’t make shit and his career is dead. Unless you’re a big name person you need to get as much work as you can just to get your name out there which if it’s good work and you’re not a pain you will get more work.

This is all because he hates hates writing and only wants to be praised and can’t even handle the slightest critique / notes / feedback etc. - very similar to ooga who also hates everything about writing to the point he doesn’t even do it while claiming to be a very important author.
It’s the same reason why they are both lazy bums, they don’t want to put the work in but be praised for just existing.

Sly Stallone I use as an example since he’s been writing scripts pretty much non-stop since the 70s. Sly wrote for himself since he knew he was “different” and would never get anywhere waiting for someone to cast him / write for him. Even in his 70s he’s still writing regularly because he not only enjoys it but knows you need to keep doing it to get better. Pat is fat.

He needs to be self-publishing to keep his output up. But I assume that his ego won't let him because he's a big important author man with an agent and the check he once received for $100k.
Whats funny is that once upon a time he could probably have squeezed some decent sales from his retard twitter fans if he just self published whatever he could churn out. The 100k deal was across three books and three years so he just needs to convince 5% of his retard followers to give him the equivalent of a dollar a month and he's laughing.
I think it's kind of respectable that he never tried to start a patreon, but knowing him he probably has a dumb reason for not doing it.

It wasn’t a 100k deal, it was the deal plus whatever he made off insurance royalties and any other shit he was doing as a side hustle. There was never once ever a chance he’d make 6 figures on a book deal. He likely made about 50k on the three book deal , plus maybe 30-40k in royalties is 90k, round up since above five and you get the technicality Tomlinson of making six figures.

if he really doesn't ever sell a new book, how long you reckon he's willing to continue pretending to write? it has been almost 4 years since In The Black already and he still calls it his "new book" on his bio to pretend he's active in the industry

at one point is it not less humiliating to self-publish?

Exactly. He doesn't have a job or kids. He should be cranking out one book a year at a minimum. And these days if no publisher is biting initially, you just self-publish it and crank out another one. Him going four years without a book is nonsensical. I have a friend who has written and self-published four books in the meantime and they're better than Pat's dreck.

The contradiction between rick's lack of output and his insistence of roleplaying as a writer is infuriating until you take him at his word. Rick doesnt like writing, he's on the record saying he doesnt even like reading and he "became" a writer because it was the fastest way to become rich (!). Rick just wants to be famous and be told he is very smart while keeping the word "writer" as a bio. This is why despite losing every single #payquasi battle he still got off at every stage of the victim tour because it allowed him to define himself as a "harassed Sci-Fi Writer"

Rick has never been a writer. He's an insurance salesman with a (dropped) hobby.

Nice to know that Pat is so gifted that he can resolve a "major plot point" as well as take advantage of a "worldbuilding opportunity" in a mere two hours and then ship it off to his agent. What a talented writer.
Hemingway and Bukowski, two bloated drunk authors, literally honed their craft by strict routine and meticulous revisiting of shit.

Rick? He just shuts out a few paragraphs and sends it off. Done and dusted, child.
