If you listen to Josiah's tapes closely, you can tell Pat has a personal investment in this. Maybe not financially, but I do believe he went to the SFWA to get their buy in and funding for a lolsuit that they both thought was going to accomplish a mutual goal of silencing their critics, which obviously failed.

Pat was the face of it because he probably was the one who initiated it. This is the reason he talked to Josiah in the first place, why he tried to speak to the good Judge Stein, and why he sounded dejected when he told Josiah he was holding out hope.

My guess is that the SFWA took advantage of his willingness to actually go through with it and limited their risk by going the lawsuit loan route. Problem is going to be that Pat won't be able to pay them back and will probably file bankruptcy instead, hence the reason Mary Three Names is out.

It's a not-for-profit. They get away with a lot, but the people donating to it neither have limitless coffers, nor will they continue to donate when the see the bulk of their charity is going into a phyrric battle at best that is serving individuals over the whole. Some people are going to come around asking where their money is going to, and SFWA is not going to have a satisfactory answer if they keep the dog and pony show going. I've worked with not-for-profits, and I've seen. The pipers eventually come calling. The funding will dry up. They will stop receiving donations. This is not an organization that can sustain this. Spending someone else's money in grand fashion doesn't go unnoticed.

they use their legal funds to defend known pedophiles from justice, they don’t give a fuck about wasting money on the evil internet boogie men who embarrass and expose them

The idea that Rick should be the public face of a lawsuit, like he's not an impulsive maniac that would let his diseased ego mismanage it, is fucking hilarious.
This should not be the face of anything

I was just thinking about something. I remember that during the time Hulk Hogan sued that tabloid site, his legal fees were paid by some fag who was outed by them, who wanted revenge. IIRC, the judge had to approve it. I'm not sure if the laws are the same in WI and CA, but it would definitely be worthwhile for an atalker to see if that information is available in the record. The defendants would have the highest chance of being granted access.

Peter Thiel is a friend of Elon's. I doubt he is funding this clown show.

Noted crazy bitch Louise Mensch has probably promised that she would cover his legal debt but when it comes time to pay she'll just block him on Twitter. Then, with tears in his fat eyes, he has to go Niki and explain his internet friend has blocked him so he has to sell everything they own.

silencing their critics,
I don't think it has anything to do criticism, it's 100% only about the reviews. It's very apparent to me that the major incentive to being a part of the SFWA is the fake 5-star reviews your book receives from all the wannabe authors. It's all a big quid-pro-quo scam. If Rick convinced them that their bullshit review gimmick was being jeopardized by a group of trolls leaving 1-star reviews, that's their real motive for ponying up the lawsuit cash. Part of their funding comes from member dues, members that are paying for the SFWA boost, that revenue stream might be threatened if that incentive to join is mitigated.

All just speculation, but it makes sense to me.

I hope the SFWA gets bled dry by Disney and everything else going on. Fuck them and the pedos they harbor. The SFWA is legitimately a pedophile organization fronting as a scifi authors club. I wouldn't be shocked if they have some ties with scientology or the SEA Org.

They're scared of what we have stumbled upon. Thats why they wasted so much money on the suit. They thought they could intimidate us into silence. Can't shut us up that easily. The secrets coming out now, and that makes them afraid.

I also believe it was the reviews which is why the SFWA got involved and we goofed on Mary three names so she not only saw this as “good” for the writers but also so she can get some vengeance. The whole SFWA seems to just be everyone reviewing everyone else and giving 5 star reviews. Look at Uncle Paul, they had him nominated for “best fan” award and all he does is give them good reviews for free books.

A year before the lawsuit was filed, the SFWA released a statement regarding the Goodreads reviews. Those reviews clearly irked them. When Rick got that list of IPs from that mutant, he probably convinced that wart faced cunt Mary "Three Names" to fund the lawsuit thinking it was a slam dunk case. Plus he is also close friends with ghoul Cat Rambo too.

Ok

This is probably the case. You can get super cheap rates on flights and resorts in Central America. The fact that he's not taking a $10K+ trip tells you everything you need to know.

The devil is in the details because if they made legitimate money and had a modicum of fiscal responsibility, they'd be able to take extravagant trips. It's not hard to save tons of money when you're in your 40s and have no kids. Quite frankly, he should be talking about early retirement instead of questioning how people have $17K around to fight subpoenas.

Also, look how they live.
