It takes forever to be seen in the US also. I literally had to wait 8 months just to get an appointment for a yearly physical with my GP.People in countries with universal Healthcare are constantly batching about the state of healthcare-- it takes forever to be seen and in a lot of cases it's very difficult to get the necessary imaging tests done (MRI's/C-scan).
At least with universal healthcare you won't have to worry about going bankrupt from an ER visit. It's also been consistently shown that patients are getting better results in the developed countries that have universal healthcare versus the US. It's a much more honest and transparent system too compared to what we have in the US where many doctors are pretty much just trying to milk as much money as they can from Patients/insurance companies and letting their Hippocratic Oath take a back seat to maximizing profits.
Trust me, the US healthcare system is shit and is pretty much the laughing stock of the rest of the developed world and hell even the third world. I worked in commercial health insurance for a number of years so I've seen first hand how bad it is. Obviously no system is perfect but universal health care would be infinitely better than the system we currently have. This is pretty much the one issue I actually agree with the left/democrats about. Capitalism has absolutely no place in health care.
