There certainly was a degradation of quality, but couldn't that be the result of the growing complaceny/laziness of the hosts vs. the departure of one of the many former interns?

When the SXM merger went through…the bwosses did their math and realize the juuuu HOWARD was worth more…and was their own kin. The Aryan and Angolan show was going to be on the chopping block…just not yet. O&A was still pulling in the big numbahs enough to justify keeping them broadcasting. But make no mistake Howie was begging the dwoggie company to fire the boys so HE could be the BIG STAAAH…

In 2013 the boys started trashing Hoo Hoo Howie more than usual because HOWIE was blocking guests from going on O&A (directly trying to kill the show so bosses could justify firing them). So they said WE’LL see how you like THIS FUCKFACE….You have a fawwwwkin broad running your PERSONA. The CFO of the Howard Stern empire Marcie Turk…and your fawwwwkin WIFE is making you do KITTEN GIVE AWAYS on your show. They called it for what it was: he was controlled, corporate, lazy, and PUSSYWHIPPED. Howie freaked the fuck out and begged SXM bosses to fire the boys, but the brand was still too popular…so SXM compromised, they made grilled cheese off the rad-iator and politely asked the boys to lay off…and then, a miracle happened.

Anthony Cumia got fired.

SXM management was relieved. Maybe, they thought, without that unruly nigger around, he’ll be “Gregg Hughes” and not Opie. But the Opster don’t play like that. HE DON’T PLAY. He’s been doing this thing since he was 18. What did Ol’ Marshmallow Ass always tell us? “GAWWWWD THESE JOCKS JUST DONT FAWWWKIN GET IT!!!! When you’re attacked you need to respond!” And so the Greggster attacked. Only this time, he wasn’t bringing Pat Cooper into studio to trash Hop along Howie for an hour. He wasn’t going on air to reveal the corporate structure and board members of Stern LLC. No. He was going to fawk with Wigward in the HALLWAY. Everyday, just getting in his fawwwwkin head by going “Good morning!”. It was so bad Howie needed the hallway closed…WHAT ELSE did Opie always tell us?

In 2009 the Opster let us in on a little seeecreet! He’s got a secreet! And it was that TIM “SHIT” SABIAN showed OPIE AROUND HOWIES STUDIO. “Ohhh god. I can’t believe i’m showing you this. Oh god. Don’t tell anybody i let you back here. I could get in so much trouble, oh god.” And guess what? The Opster sat down in that kikes seat. I heard he even left a few boogers under the console. He knew exactly what would get to that neurotic OCD hook nosed roach.

So now the Opster thought it a good idea to go back into the studio again…No Tim Sabean, no O&A…HIS SHOW. Howie was livid. There were leaks he was gonna fling himself out the window when he found this out. He went to the bosses, not angry, but in tears now, BEGGING his sewer compatriots to finally fire the Opster once and for all. And they obliged. Finally, after 6 years since the merger…Howies Grand Plan worked. And guess what? We all fell for it. We genuinely believe the Opster was “fired” for “filming” “Roland” “shitting”.

Absolutely he was. The difference between me and Sam is that I wouldn't cater to every single Opie whim. As a Senior Producer, your job was to decide what type of content is good for the show that will entertain the audience. If you asked people what their favorite O&A bit was, nobody is going to answer with "that time they pulled clips from The View and talked about it for an hour." That's how Sam got where he got. There was no "Producer" filter in his head, just "Do everything Opie wants, even if you personally think it sucks for the show." I didn't do that. Of course I knew Opie wanted clips from the Oscars. But the Oscars sucks, nobody gives any fucks, especially O&A fans. O&A fans don't give a shit who won Best Supporting Actress. Opie cares about the Oscars, so Sam is gonna make sure we have an hour's worth of Oscar recaps, even if it means boring the hell out the audience and doing a bad show.

Once Derek was fired, I held back tons of content. I could've handed in a bunch of shit in the morning, and just didn't, and let them run with whatever Sam had handed in. And I just kept doing that. I told Opie I was "burnt out" being in studio, and handed it to Sam. So now you have Sam in studio to talk about Sam flavored content and as a bonus, now it was Opie's "guy" in there instead of Anthony's "guy" so Sam's mic was always on, and basically 4th mic in some queer "power move" by the Opster.
