I like that he’s famously an asshole and difficult to work with. Supposedly he was screaming the n word on the set of “Community” because they kept making his character more absurdly racist.

He's always been a likeable screen persona regardless of whatever he's like offscreen so I give him a thumbs up. I even like Fletch Too and Spies Like Us (whatever its called), I genuinely like Nothing But Trouble too- even his duds are worth seeing.

I read bits of the SNL making of book and apparently at a reunion (the one where Murray punched him), he told a gay cast member he should do a joke where he has AIDS and each week they should weigh him- like a snazzy weight loss remedy!

He seems like a good egg.

Chevy got the last laugh when he roasted Howchie at his own wedding.

I still believe he "buried the hatchet" with Howard knowing he could get him good, as Howard wasn't hiding his Hollywood intentions.

I don't think he'd realize he would get invited to his wedding, but he seized his opportunity. And the fact that EVERYONE told Howard that Chevy completely insulted him, and Howard replied that he "loved it", was Howie trying to deflect that Chevy finally got him and he was fooled.

I've probably told this one here before, but my favorite story from the original SNL cast days is one where Chevy and Bill Murray were arguing about something and as Chevy is storming off, Bill calls out after him "Medium talent!" Great burn. I think he's a funny guy.
Didn't Chevy say Murray's face looked like something Neil Armstrong landed on

Yeah. The 'fight' happened when Chevy returned to host SNL and all the cast he had left behind resented him being there. Murray felt that he was the one who had to do something about it and they got into a little fight with neither of them punching the other in the face.

Of course they ended up working together on Caddyshack and Chevy's said nothing but nice things about Murray after.

He's a comedic genius. I don't think people realize just how influential he has been. He has a great part in the National Lampoon documentary where he gets emotional about Doug Kenney, is in complete denial about his suicide and talks about how he misses him every day.
That was so weird, kinda like when Norm broke down on Letterman. You just don’t expect it from people like them.

Chevy was funny, and I see why he was the breakout star of SNL and why he left to do his own thing. He sounds like an insufferable asshole but most comedians are insufferable assholes, and for him to be as charismatic as he is onscreen if he’s really that awful offscreen really shows he is a talented actor.
