Really annoying how he’s trying to make Austin happen. There’s no chance. LA having a comedy comeback is more likely than that. I’m sure most of the comics that have moved there recently will leave once people stop caring about the Mothership. Pretty sure Tim Dillon already left.

I also find it weird how they’re implementing cutting edge technology in the club just to weed out hecklers. If there’s no chance something unexpected will happen, why go see a live comedy show at all?

It makes perfect sense. The only caveat is that they cannot let to many fags move here as it will just turn into LA/NYC on location.

I disagree. The comic that is single handedly trying to create the scene is a stool humping hack. Most of the comics that have moved there stink on ice. If someone like Attell moves there, maybe I’ll believe it but that’s not going to happen. The fact is New York has a ton of clubs all within a small area so it’s still the best place for a working comic to be. In Austin it seems like the only way to become successful is to be friends with Rogan. It might become a “conservative” comedy hub at best but that’s about it.
