Listening to this and reading the comments it's so obvious to me now this segment was scripted. All 3 of the boys sound like they're reading lines its so unnatural and opie makes too many jokes for them not to be written down. Obviously it was opie pushing them to do it and ant and jim being complete weak pushovers with opie just went along. It's pure cringe, Jim is an awful actor he just barrels through his lines, ant is clearly embarrassed, quiet and not doing his usual HO-LE-SHIT laughs at jims lines. They have some nerve to attack other shows for similar antics. They must have got a load of people calling them out because the next day they come on and pretend only the callers were faking and that they suspected it. Funny how ant and jim to this day are adamant they never did any fake bits, just shows what lying sacks of shit they are. So what other bits are obviously fake? I am thinking the killer caller, opie will have remembered the stern one and we all know he was obsessed with him. Also remember on Opies YouTube when he kept paying that lady to act like a retard in public places in a tragic attempt to go viral? God he's such a fucking annoying fag.

Sex for Sam was mostly fake. It was theater of the mind. The 'contestants' would just call from outside somewhere random and say stuff like "yeah I nailed my girlfriend in the middle of a grocery store". They might go into an actual building but them fingering their girlfriends or getting blown was about as real as the War of the Worlds broadcast. The FCC didn't care and wanted every excuse to terminate them same with CBS being paranoid that O&A were getting too hard to control.

Obviously stuff like the infamous Bra Bombing were fake. Throwing of the chicken off of the roof was fake. The 100 Grand phonecall was obviously fake and done with someone from the back office. A few early O&A prank phone calls from WBAB era to WAAF were fake as well.

But the biggest fake bit? WOW. Whip 'em out Wednesdays. You think those callers talking about getting women to flash them were real? It was just stunt marketing to get O&A stickers plastered everywhere. Not a single WOW call was probably real. Not one. They also used to have fake callers early in the XM years talk about how awesome the service was because management forced them to take those calls. Howard had to take those same calls hilariously.

Eddie the Murderer was definitely real. The NYPD called in and investigated his claims and identified him pretty quickly. Several news outlets also covered that one as well. He ended up being a nutcase who was a huge Ron and Fez regular caller apparently and lost his mind and made up this wacky story to get some air time and clearly took it too far. He called into O&A a few times under different names before and after that incident as well. I laugh every single time I listen to that segment when Patti begins crying that they want her to stay with a murderer.

Opie would constantly try to make viral videos with these mentally ill monstrosities. His three biggest viral videos were the basketball trickshot video (which was a huge early O&A joke that fans would link something to someone and use that video like RickRoll, when the link said "free stuff" or "porn" or whatever). The other viral video was the Homeless Andrew cake stomp which still gets attention. And then finally some random songs covered by Homeless Mustard.

I actually believe in WoW. In the late 90s and early 00s it was possible to get women to flash you. I know this because some of the first real life tits I ever saw were from some slut flashing us on the highway after we did the “lifting shirt” gesture at her.

Fake bits were few and far between after WNEW i’d say. The fakest it got was setting up bits then pretending they didn’t have involvement with them. This was evident with any Lady Di or Bobo appearance.

They would ask Di to call in, keep her on hold, then they’d go “WHY THE FAWWWWK ARE YOU CALLING US!!!!” Or with Bobo they’d ask him to come to the studio, then go “WHY THE FAWWWWK ARE YOU IN THE STUDIO!!!” to which both would just respond “…because you asked me to come.” Other lines (Knock it off spade by Bobo) were fed through the headphones. But besides that even their most cringy bits like the FU line were real callers.

By at least 2007 O&A were publicly exposing and ragging on Howards use of fake callers. They were definitely hypocrites but I can’t imagine them exposing the premiere service for fake radio calls then using the same, or a similar, service to create fake bits themselves.

You mean Bobo couldn't magically way his way past four barriers of security to get into the studio? And Opie obviously feigning surprise at Bobo showing up out of nowhere was just a bit? Amazing.

Howard always used fake callers when he wanted to. But he also mixed in real calls far more often. If Stern had a big bit to set up he would take a pre-planned call. Stern had his own in house Prepburger that the show staff made themselves. Sometimes O&A listeners would send in O&A bits to the Stern staff saying that they made them to get Stern to play the bit on air as a goof. But Stern's career on terrestrial was mostly just random people calling in. Some of his listeners broke stuff to him like the whole Rainbow Room fight.

But during Stern's satellite run he began phasing out real callers. He had people calling in about his daughter's stupid poems or his wig constantly and he went on a tirade against the staff for letting those calls through. Some guy kept calling in as 'Wigward from the Hamptons' and getting on air which was hilarious. And no one from Staff informed Howard that it was a mocking name, so when Howard figured it out on his own he got all angry that no one told him.

Now all of Howard's callers are approved regulars and they basically use a script. But even then Howard is never on the air anymore so there are probably barely enough people to get regular callers going.

Have you seen the vehicles that had WOW stickers? It was usually a rusted white panel work van that women would be terrified to be near, let alone expose themselves too.

Even as an impressionable kid listening, I didn't believe it was real when some actor would call in with a yokel accent as a trucker saying he got flashed.

Barely any women listened to O&A, and half of them were mentally ill Patti types, yet we're supposed to believe tons of hot women on the street both recognized the poster and decided to take their tits out in public during the few seconds it takes a car to drive by. It was so fake I'm amazed they were never called out.

Cake stomp was as fake as the moon landing
They paid him for the cake after they stomped it. They wanted the genuine reaction from him. The staff messing with people on the streets was always one hundred percent real. Stuff like Nigger versus Nazi. Throwing mustard on that Chinese businessman. Box of Cocks. Assault on the Media. Homeless Shopping Spree. All of that was real and some of it almost got them fired.

They loved pushing it with homeless people. They just walked by Homeless Charlie one day and he kept babbling about who he wanted to rape. So they brought him in the studio and they would throw out a name and he would fantasize about violently beating or raping them. To give listeners an idea of what the real NYC was like with these dangerous bums on the street. Hilariously O&A got suspended but the homeless were just let loose back on the streets to harass people.

Also bumper stickers are on the back of a car so logistically it barely makes sense.
