Like I've seen other comics handle hecklers by telling jokes and making fun of the guy, instead of just having a joke-less meltdown, but maybe I've been spoiled by actually funny comics.

Man I hate to sound like i'm taking Opie's "side" here (I'm really not) but I just don't like Bob and never have.

So he just repeated the caller's insult and said "yeah....uh.....you're fat" or whatever.
