This is a hilarious point about Auntie's character as well, and his part in O&A... He needed Opie to be the guidance, to have an idea... as dumb an idea as it may be, he has an idea. And he pushed it with full confidence, and Auntie's reluctant deadpanning would make the bit. In many ways O&A at the end of its lifespan was a precursor to MAGA and Trump himself getting elected. I still contend that if O&A didn't break up, Opie would have been the very first on the Trump bandwagon because he was just lobbing missiles at bitches at that time.
