Horror novelist Brian Keene, known for his work on The Rising and Ghoul, made a brief but memorable appearance in an episode of Season 6. What started as a playful nod to Keene’s dark and charismatic persona quickly became a fan favorite moment, and now the author is returning in a big way.

Im sure many authors just ignored or stayed quiet about the awful behavior of Pat just in case he could be used as a helpful contact or networking reason but his career is dead and it’s all his fault so I can see more being vocal in 2025 about the joke that is Ricky

He's down to the Weimer types hanging on. When was the last time he interacted in a positive way with any authors of note or value? He doesn't go on anybody's podcasts, he doesn't support anybody's work, he doesn't attend symposiums or workshops or pursue his craft.

He doesn't promote anyone else or uplift anybody. He got two rungs up a 20 rung ladder and decided he was at the top and could start stepping on people trying to get on rung one to lift himself further, or that his reach was enough to pull down people at the top in order to replace them.

That Keene/King collection is full of bigger names than Pat. That's what real authors do, they write shorts and collaborate and work constantly, and not at scrubbing toilets while tweeting all day.

SO MANY authors submit to acquisitions editors every month. Tiny Tim Goes Hawaiian by That Guy Who Everybody We Work With Talks About Behind His Back For Being A Piece of Shit and his failed Tor contract goes in the outbox instantly. Why would ANYONE publish that?

Do you think Patrick didn't pitch Angry Robot at Worldcon? Do you REALLY think he didn't go to that party to network and promote? Where's the book deal with them? It's been nearly 3 months.

Even Ooga, despite attacking Leslie, is more or less doing all the right things to help further his career. Using cons to network and gain supporters who'll finance his attending more cons. Getting involved in anthologies and other professional projects.
