I don’t watch any TV, I still watch some movies but that’s it, I threw away all my esoteric philosophy books, I’m only reading fiction about interesting stories for pleasure now.

I feel so much better. I’m just not engaging with their bullshit anymore.

Show me a single modern artist who makes music that isn’t about drugs, depression, sex, money, fame, crime etc. Show me a single rapper who isn’t a gay freak, a single rock star who isn’t a pedophile. In the US, if you go out in public, music plays EVERYWHERE. You cannot escape it. Go to a restaurant and there's likely a >50% chance that there's a TV. You just can't escape, but you can take steps to make your own immediate living space much more pleasant.

Be forewarned though that you will find it much harder to connect with normies. When people talk about sports I was never really into it at all in any point of my life, but I would fake it. I don't even have the tolerance to do that anymore.

I'm pretty much in this camp these days. The entertainment industry is a propaganda machine (no duh) and I needed to get away from it. If I'm going to enjoy music these days, I usually try to find some local nobodies who's music I like. I watch shit like This Old House or YouTube videos about home improvement and trades, but that's about the extent of my TV time. I gave up on any sport with a three letter acronym and a red and blue logo. I'd rather watch the local pond hockey tournament than sit in front of a TV and watch the pros. I've dialed back almost everything to living my life within the sphere around me. Fuck globalism, I'm happy in the woods.
