6 million was never about the figures/statistical data its about kabbalistic markers. 6 million is a very sacred number, their rabbis were evoking it for centuries, it even trickled down to newspapers (run by less religious jews but who still remember the talmudic lessons even if vaguely)...and then less so by the Wall Street and American-Israelites who run the World Wars narratives (I know the talmud better than them, but they had early lessons in kabbalah as preschoolers so they vaguely/subconsciously adhere to kabbalism even while being irreligious).
