Is there a sadder thing on Earth than a grown adult obsessed with superheroes, openly talks about superheroes, and wishes he WAS a superhero?

I don’t have a problem with anybody doing things they enjoy or liking things they like. It doesn’t stop them being complete faggots though.

I actually think the full dungeons and dragons nerds are less gay than the marvel adult creeps. I can’t even explain why, being an adult man who idolises and obsesses over marvel is just profoundly gay. They aren’t even good movies. I’ve seen a couple that were okay, but none of them are good.

I really don’t understand it. Frankly I don’t want to. I humour my nephew sometimes and let him tell me all about it, but I physically can not retain any of the info in my head, whenever I hear or see a new marvel film coming out I just think it’s Spider-Man. As far as my awareness goes they release like 30 Spider-Man films and tv shows a year and that’s how I’ll always perceive it - which suits me just fine.

If you want to fuck with the nerds, mix up the heroes with different brands.

They sperg out so bad that you know they'd be sucking pennies to calm down if they could.

I always found his gay ADHD rant to be very telling:

"Evolutionarily advantageous"
"We need those [tards] now more than ever"
"The creative mind I am today"

He genuinely thinks he's one of the X-Men because he's on the spectrum. Pat probably just gave up his scholarship to the X-Men Academy so Professor X could give it to an autistic POC.
Pat in a roundabout way is admitting he is unemployable

I’m in the 97th percentile for adhd and don’t take any medicine.

I managed to:
Graduate from college with a 3.8
Have a wife and a family that is still living at my full home.
I will be going to graduate school in the spring.
Spend 0 time on Twitter.
Don’t have a website dedicated to talking shit about me.

Just a regular guy with a “condition” but instead of selling 200 books and making my condition what makes me special I just go to work and try and make a better life for my family.

ETA: Patrick will look down on all this^ and act as though he’s better.

As a major film fan (even working for a time in TV / Film production) it disgusts me how far film has fallen. It’s majority the studios fault since they are too afraid to take any risks and would rather pump out sequels, reboots, and comic book, and Star Wars movies because of a built-in audience. My skin crawls when I see grown men raving about the latest paint by numbers comic book or Star Wars movie like it’s some great achievement. Those movies are made to sell merchandise to kids & man children and nothing more.

Matt Damon had a very good explanation about it on Hot Ones - and he's right.

I can't do the quote Justice, but it has to do with the fall in home video sales not justifying risks anymore. Say what you want about him, but he got that one right.

I legitimately don’t know what hero is created by what brand. Is captain america DC or Marvel? I don’t know and don’t care enough to even google it and find out in seconds.

Perfect! Run with it but act like you're correct with your inaccuracies.

What I find funny is that Pat claims to be a dork/nerd and he is so infatuated with all these comics yet he has no problem with all these new forced changes to these old characters. Both marvel, star wars and star trek. Pat is just totally OK with them destroying the canon with woke politics. Obviously with marvel he is just a fan of the movies and never was a childhood fan but the Star Trek/ star wars history being rewritten where the originals are no longer valid and he has nothing to say about it. You would think someone that loves them so much would actually defend these original stories he has loved so much. All these properties are being intentionally ran into the ground and he over here cheering in all the right places. For someone that had made being a nerd into his 40s as his identity, he is the only nerd tha hasnt had a bad thing to say about any of the changes. He is a fake nerd that is just trying to tap into the disposable income of the lifelong nerds by trying to blend in.

I'll dox myself if he posts a picture of his comic book collection on Twitter.
Oh, wait, that's right, he doesn't have one. Better luck next time, jelly-tits!

The gist of it was basically that movies have always had two opportunities to make money - premiering in theaters and then a few months later releasing on VHS/DVD. Studios took chances on weirder, more niche titles because a film could bomb at the box office but then become a "cult classic" and make its money back on DVD - Fight Club is the example that immediately springs to mind.

But piracy and streaming have killed the DVD market to the point of no recovery. And now theater money is being threatened by "premieres on Disney+ or HBO Max the same day!" Capitalism evolves and PG-13 action movies from known IPs, full of big Hollywood stars and witty quips to chuckle at make the most money in theaters, especially in Chinese theaters.

If there’s one thing Damon knows it’s studios taking risks since he was part of the 90s rise of new / independent filmmakers getting movies made (Kevin Smith, Tarantino, Gus Van Sant, Robert Rodriguez, etc.) which is something we will never see again. Sequels / Spin-Offs / Comic / Star Wars are “sure things” to studio and an original idea is too risky.

You mention Logan which even being a popular comic book franchise the studio wasn’t fully on board with making an R rated movie due to fear of a poor box office (PG13 means more money) and unable to sell toys (they used to be able to sell toys for R rated movies but not anymore). Hugh Jackman had to take a pay cut just to make the movie because if it was going to be R the studio wouldn’t give them they larger budget that they would give a PG13. Of course it made over 500 million but even the safe “sure-thing” projects they get nervous over.

The success of Joker has apparently spurred on the greedy kike producers to start making more “adult” themed capeshit.

I imagine the studios will release them alongside the PG13 Marvel/DC shit to make as much money as possible.

Well, Venom was supposed to be R but they chickened out. And it's a dumb movie but I still liked it.

The Deadpool's were amusing but not worth revisiting. I see the 3rd turning into a bleached shit show or not happening at all ala Edgar Wright's version of "Ant Man".

Logan was only made because Deadpool did well - and even they, like Deadpool, had to go with a low budget and pay cuts. Excellent film though. You could tell they believed in what they were making, which none of these factory-worker directors do for Marvel.

I still wish The Shadow was done right. That could be some scary shit.

And even with Joker they were nervous and made sure to let fans know this will NOT be part of the Batman movies and it’s a stand alone movie. They really had to say it’s a movie based on a comic book character but don’t put it with our other comic book movies because it’s not PG13 and we can’t sell toys.
