I know trannies personally and the trans man I knew obviously did it because they were raped like 30 times (no longer talk to them, they were a basket case) and the woman I know just did it because they looked feminine enough anyway and just preferred being a woman. It's not as maudlin as whatever documentary you watched made it out to be. It probably is for the newer ones who want to feel a part of a big struggle or some shit. I get that the way I'm referring to these people probably makes it seem like I'm bullshitting, but I'm not. The trans man was from a rich family and he was dating a trans woman who did not look very good and I have no idea what they're doing now, it's been years. They said they got raped multiple times and I think it made them have trauma that made them want to transition. The trans women I've known usually just do it because they want to.
