I was thinking his latest benefactor was still the SFWA but now I'm thinking it's Lynn.

Lynn almost certainly orchestrated their PPP loan fraud scheme, we know Nikki and Pat aren't smart enough to pull that off.

Lynn presumably would've done that knowing with all the massive fraud involved with PPP, with even a modicum of effort making it look like they had businesses (like Pat's Torque Wheeler blog buying Nikki's SEO services) the IRS wouldn't bother to pursue it. Especially not for the relatively low amounts they took in PPP loans. The people you see on the news being prosecuted took out a million dollars for an LLC they formed the day before and immediately spent it on cars and boats.

But what Lynn couldn't have foreseen was Pat's online feud would result in a court order for a debtors exam... Maybe she's paying it all off now to keep Nikki out of hot water and the Tomlinson books closed... though I'm not sure if financial documents retrieved in a civil case could legally be submitted to the IRS as a tip.

Maybe it doesn't matter if it's legal or not... if the debt exam documents somehow leaked it would be yet another (expensive) civil legal matter and it might be enough to catch the eye of the IRS... that would be the fear anyway. Pat sure seemed convinced they'd somehow be leaked, with funsters tweeting them all day. I'm not a debt collecting shark attorney but I believe that'd be referred to as "leverage."

To be clear, Lynn could be worried that Nikki would be implicated for PPP fraud (and to a lesser degree Patrick); I don't think Nikki and Patrick even realized those loans they took out could get them in trouble. And they should, they stole money.

Now frankly I don’t agree, he can have his opinion, but these nasty people started harassing him , harassing him so bad, almost as much as they harass us, but not so much, even getting his social media taken away, which we all know they love to do…and to put a stop to this, Patrick had to sue them…can you believe that? And the courts, they’re so corrupt, they ruled against him and demanded he pay. He has to pay an illegal immigrant who doesn’t even live in this country. Why can he even sue a US citizen folks? I don’t think i’m supposed to say this but I stepped in. I said to Patrick, I called him, I said Sir, frankly, I read your books, and i’m not very impressed, and i’ve seen what you’ve tweeted about me and it’s not very nice. But you know what? I’ll pay your debts. I’ll pay your debts. I said that you know? I said i’ll pay your debts. And he said no Mr Trump…you’re facing so much already, I can’t take your money, he said that, not so nice, but he said that. And even though he said I couldn’t pay, I called the lawyers, I called the lawyers and I said “Jerry…just tell me what the bill is”. And I paid it. I paid so much, and the debt was so big and it’s gone now. And he didn’t even ask for it, and I did it. It's one thing if people are submitting online reports of "I think this guy took out $18k in fraudulent PPP loans", that isn't even a blip on the radar. It'd be another if the IRS started getting inundated with faxes everyday of their LLC's books like "look, this is clearly fraud -- and look at this, he's sucking Trump's dick too!"
