Seeiously though. I know we’re all jaded douchebags posting on an obscure forum for a radio show about three deeply flawed douchebags. Cumia is a hypocritical pedophile. Opie is a mentally empty cringelord. Norton is a fucking worm who never grew up after 16. But in that studio at their best they were fawwwkin hilarious at times and launched some great comedy careers.

What the fuck did Howard do that was funny or even memorable? I don’t know a single funny moment they ever had. When I looked up the show’s best moments, and the top result was a fst heroin junkie (wut???) throwing CDs at another staffer then trying to fight him.

You can trace Stern's decline back to that shitty movie he made. It was too sugarcoated for his core fans, and no one who didn't already like him gave a shit. He basically "sold out", and while he did some fun radio after, it was all downhill from there. His divorce, Jackie quitting, the slow motion Hindenburg disaster that was Artie Lange, the move to satellite, it all served to erode what the show once was. By the time Artie got canned, it was all over. Since that point, he's been trying to reinvent himself as something "more" than a crude, obnoxious shock-jock, but unfortunately, that was what people liked about him. And he doesn't have the personality or the talent to be much of anything else.

There's 2 books he wrote himself that explain it. He was in the right time at the right place.
I'm not sure if anyone questioning why Howard is famous is old enough to remember what life was like pre-internet. Howard was the only easily accessible place you could go to for shock content and porn stars and edgy interviews and pranks. He's a pathetic old ghoul now but there was literally nothing like his show in the 80s and early 90s.

I'm surprised more OnA fans won't admit our humor is actually rooted in Howard.

You gotta go back to the 90s, and early 2000s. Howard was funny at one point, and like O&A a lot of guests added to that. Yes, he's a sellout cocksucker now, but he HAD undeniably the best radio show of all time.
Exactly 90s era Howard was hilarious. His ability to play innocent with a whackpacker was fantastic. Beetle is one of the greatest characters ever
