Everything I said that really is exactly how one would get into it, he's absolutely right and I am in skilled labor

I was talking specifically about young people today in todays market, don’t get some bullshit degree that costs half a million dollars and is administered by some noodle armed degenerate homosexual, don’t try and grease the palms of some Union to get a cushy no show job.

Just find a mentor locally who’s providing a tangible service, and ask them to teach you what they know, and in return you offer them a reliable set of hands. You’ll get yourself in a better situation than most people doing the usual boomer route, you don’t have to be special or gifted, just reliable and earnest.

I’m not sure why this makes me a retard, but it’s 100% the message I will give to my kids.

I was shadowing in a trauma center when I was 18, saw my first brutal deaths there at that age too. That part isn't great, but the idea behind it helped me become successful

Very true. Baltimore had a graduation rate of 70%, and that is an increase from the 68% it was. The city doesnt give a fuck at all. Schools are 9/10 in the ghetto/etc. Not like there is a huge amount of money or assistance to do something in the areas. Education is secondary. My mom used to teach in D.C., what you said is absolutely correct.

The Wire had it right, and that show is like 15 years old. It goes back farther than that though
As of 2019 Baltimore was the third most funded (16k and change per student) school district in America. Since then the budget has gotten even higher.

I work for a leasing company, and we build and rent apartments in "upscale" gentrified type areas, and the majority of our tenants skew young. The number one maintenance request among our tenants is "microwave stopped working". In most of the buildings, the microwaves are located under the kitchen cabinets, and there's a switch located on the wall underneath the cabinets. They accidentally flip the switch, cut the power to the microwave, and have no idea what to do. The number two request is "thermostat not working". They run on AA batteries, and there's a big flashing indicator when the batteries are low. Again, no idea what to do. We also get numerous requests to change light bulbs, as many people have never changed a light bulb, and have no idea how to do so.
Nice, now I can bitch about Boomers again.

Ask them what they were taught in school. I shoot the shit with my uncles all the time, it's amazing what they took out. I said I was going to start grafting apples to speed up my orchard and I now know they used to teach that shit. They used to teach marksmanship, home economics was actually useful and not just a class you learned to heat food up in, shop actually had a dude missing fingers you could learn welding from, not just FFA shit.

Of course, if you want low taxes they gotta cut somewhere. I have no problem paying for my sons to learn this stuff, but since I'm determined I do it myself, but a lot of people can't do that because they have to work to afford a fraction of what their parents or grandparents got for less effort, and no pension either. So they're either not having kids or the put the ones they do have in front of a screen where they learn nothing. Then everyone else complains about how the kids don't know anything.

I'm glad to see homeschooling rocketing up since the pandemic. It's the only way I see kids getting away from the internet and learning real skills, even if you do end up with a few weirdos. I'm glad my older boys are learning trades, and it seems at least here in the boonies that the push to college specifically is finally starting to gear towards actually learning to build shit.

And does anyone want to guess what the literacy rate is?

Im trying to get my son into a trade skill as well. College is only good for a specialization type of degree is the goal. Otherwise, it really is a rip off

His point about DEI hire pilots is so fucking inane. Safety is literally the number one thing for airline companies. One plane full of passengers goes down and it's a disaster for them. Does he actually think they're putting completely unqualified black people who don't know how to count at the controls? I swear he gets more stupid with every passing year. He's approaching Joe levels of dumb at this point.
He is seeeeeething because little Tony Cumia dreamed of being a pilot as a kid, but instead he is an alcoholic high school dropout who hit the lottery in life then blew it all on gambling, alcohol, and general niggerdom.

He knows black pilots are smarter and more disciplined than him.

They’re having a great life AND HE HATES THAT!

I remember reading a story on how Baltimore schools had students graduating with GPA’s in the 0.50 - 0.75 range. They also had put them in all kinds of AP classes they obviously didn’t belong in but just to brag about how many students were in AP programs. Pretty much the only way you could fail is if you never came to class.

"Hey Anthony, what do you say we go grab a burger?"

"A DEI burger?!?! No thank you!"

"OK then let's just stay home and watch a movie."

"Made by a bunch of pandering DEI hires?!?! Nice try."

"Then let's just scroll through twitter until we're furious about something, then immediately fund something else to be furious about"

"Sounds like an enchanted evening, old friend."

Some of these sound like people who just want the landlord to do everything for them instead of just going out and buying a lightbulb. And most renters don't want to buy a stepladder. Maybe I'm giving them too much credit, but I think they know how to change a lightbulb.

why do lefties always do the craziest mental gymnastics to make excuses for stupid people? what is the psychological complex behind this?
My sheltered college roommates in college a decade ago didn't know how to reset a breaker or clean a dishwasher filter (why does it smell?!?)
I'm guessing the lightbulb is behind one of those bowl light fixtures and they think it looks complicated,
do you think the expression, "How many__ to change a lightbulb" came out of nowhere?
dumbass
