"Tone chasers" are annoying enough when they're competent musicians playing original music, but the idea of anyone paying special attention to a 70 year old tribute musician's tone is laughable. He could be playing through a shitty practice amp and it won't make any difference to the half-deaf old fucks in the Moose lodge.
Tone chasing is such a worthless goal. It is a million dollar business though. Clapton, Blackmore, etc all sound the way they do because of studio equipment/mixing/producing. I have a Ludwig 5pc drum set, and it will never sound like any professionals. Joe really should know better, that money he blew could have gone towards promoting himself. 6 months from now, that amp will be collecting dust.

Why would Joe not have an Ampeg or Marshall stack ? He plays all 70s and 80s covers, at least play the part. Joe is the type to have his own PA, or he bugs the fuck out of the FOH during a mic check. Realistically, the IPad is the PA system

Honestly, amp modeling has become so good that he could just simulate dozens and dozens of different amp/cab combos, run a laptop through the PA, and he wouldn't have to lug anything around. It would probably sound better than a crackling/smoking 30 year old amp feeding back on stage. But I'm sure JoeH is a purist, completely convinced that his vintage amp and rackmount compressors are really making his tone sound that much more authentic.

Or, they're artists, with a particular sound in mind for their original music. Unlike Joe, who plods through old classic rock chestnuts in musty local banquet halls and seedy taverns. He could play that junk through tin cans and string, and no one would notice the difference. Joe cosplays as a "professional musician", and pretends buying all that crap is "work", when it's actually nothing of the kind. He considers his ride yesterday as a "work day", when all he did was lose money. Classic Joe buffoonery.

He really is a world class asshole. Spends money like there is a constant source of income. Is he making more than 1k for a show ? And he probably demands free drinks and bar snacks. Little does he know the bar owner takes it out of his pay. What a dick

Back when Joe was on reddit one of my favorite things to do was reply to his posts and make fun of his gay little faggot Barbie car. He tried to tell me that Layla was the one who picked it out which is fucking retarded if you take it at just face value. Who the fuck let's a little girl pick out the car they're going to buy? Anyways, I told him that Layla is a little faggot and he said, "She's a lovely girl, sir."

I'd be stunned if he makes that much. I'd guess it's more like a hundred bucks a gig. I'd bet he barely breaks even with the Moose Lodge gigs, if that.

I'm not a musician or into the tech stuff of music, but I know the Peavey brand are they considered decent?

I got stuck listening to some middle aged dipshit at a local bar years ago, he was just doing acoustic folk music basically but he had so many different guitars and pedals, he’d spend a good five minutes before each song fiddling with gear all to wind up sounding exactly like every obnoxious acoustic dive bar retard out there.

Joe put many lives at risk in order to publicly brag about wanting to be one of those guys.
