I'll keep this brief:

Allegedly - They were both drunk and high. Dani saw Anthony was fucking around with other females via his phone. Anthony snapped and started raging at her for snooping in his phone. She hid the gun Anthony had been carrying around the house while raging and wasted. He started raging harder when he couldn't find his gun and as Dani tried to call the police from her cell phone he tried to snatch her phone from her, she fell to the ground and he stomped on her hand holding the phone, kicked her in her ribs, and got the phone away from her and broke it. At some point during that struggle he bit her hand as well. She ran to his office and got his iPad and that's the recording we all saw. She turned on Periscope from there showing all of her injuries and telling everyone he won't let her call the cops. Hours later the cops arrived, but for some reason Dani was too scared to say anything at that point and the cops left. Later she finally went to the hospital and that's when the cops came back to arrest Anthony. Dani had a broken hand, broken rib, and several other injuries. Everything else is history.

If anyone has the full original video, at one point you can see into Anthony's office where he'd ripped the landline phone out of the wall so Dani couldn't call the cops from there either.

He's seriously lucky he's friends with crooked cops and had enough money back then to be able to plea his charges down and avoid felonies and lengthy jail time. The average "white" guy would have been locked up for a while and they would have lost their gun privileges for life.
