- It's said that the promotion was his until he fucked up.

Erik never contributed to morning prep. He never scheduled anything to record, he never spent time looking for potential show content, nothing. His responsibility from whenever he showed up to the show starting was to "prep Opie's position" which consisted of laying out a dozen CDs in front of him like a solitaire game. That's it. I can't think of any other task Erik had to do before 6am. Erik would get unlimited late passes because Opie considered Erik "his" guy. This annoyed the fuck out of everyone who wasn't Erik. Erik would be given special treatment for his entire O&A run, while doing "work" that literally would be shifted over to interns if he wasn't there.
