O&A each were getting paid $5million per year at WNEW guaranteed even if they were fired without cause. On top of that the syndication deals total were probably a few extra million per year but immediately stopped when they were fired as they were contingent upon actually having the boys broadcast. When they were fired they had over 50% of the listeners in some markets. They were hitting 60 and close to 70 shares in some markets which was insane. Imagine of all podcast listeners at any time, 50% of people listening to a podcast in NYC or Philly for example, are just Rogan or Burr listeners. Or that 70% of the radios in Cleveland were tuned into O&A.

They were also making money with appearances and other gigs. They would not be getting offers for XFL hosting when they were off air. They just had to sit there doing nothing for the most part. Opie took vacations all over the U.S. and Anthony went on cruises.

There was a fairly recent Chompound episode where Cumia talked about a 15 million dollar deal right before being fired. He took Lobster Girl to Atlantis and stayed for two weeks in the best room.
