It has come to my attention VICE is planning on doing another soft-shoe baby's first documentary about something I have too much autistic knowledge about. This is a preemptive thread attacking a show that I have not watched. But I'm willing to bet they will not include 100% of the full context.

Here is the actual timeline, not as much info on the satellite side but this should be almost everything on FM: @LingerLonger please fill any gaps.

1981 - Opie breaks into radio in Rochester as an 18 year old intern for Brother Wease, who is Opie's mentor. Stern was still doing Hop-Along Howie in obscurity up until a year or 2 into Opie's career.

Mid 1980's - Stern becomes highly successful. A day laborer named Anthony is a huge fanboy for Stern, who mocks Brother Wease's young daughter and Wease for getting cancer.

1994 - Opie gets a night show on Long Island, meets song parody man Anthony (huge Stern fanboy who imitates his voice for a few years)
- Anthony enters a contest on Stern, gets thrown out because he mentioned Opie's name. Stern bashes Opie after bababooey calls Opie a "copycat."

[Note: Neither Opie nor Anthony have uttered a negative word about Stern. We are now at Stern taking 2 huge shots at Opie with 0 response.]

1995 - Opie negotiates Anthony into a higher tax bracket and a new career in Boston. When Stern is in the news, O&A do mention him and joke as they would any celebrity, but they never trash him personally, like he does to them.

1998 - Opie plans to get himself and Anthony fired in Boston to continue contract negotiation with Infinity to go to New York City. Infinity tells O&A they can pick which NYC station to join... O&A want K-Rock. Stern vetoes it and runs to Mel whining to keep O&A off K-Rock. They throw O&A on WNEW. It takes 1 year for them to flush out music listeners, earn legit radio industry awards, and build an audience of creeps and retards, like Stern. O&A mentions they are being called copycats, thieves, fanboys, etc. by someone who works for the same company as them, and poke fun at Stern for "inventing everything."

1999 - Infinity (parent company of K-Rock & WNEW) suggests Howard mornings and O&A afternoons airing on the same stations all over U.S.A. in syndication, which Stern refuses and begins to openly trash O&A as thieves, copies, and clones on the air. However, when O&A attack back, Howard stops talking about them completely.
October 1999 - Stern announces his divorce, rather than mock him for crying, O&A give Stern credit for how he handled the announcement.

January 2000: - O&A openly say that they don't want to move to mornings because they are too pussy to compete against Howard Stern just yet.

March 2000 - After being told by Infinity to play nice with Howard, O&A tried to attend the press conference for Son of the Beach. Stern threw a bitch fit from his limo when someone told him O&A were in the crowd to support him. Stern refused to go into his own press conference, delaying it by half hour, until O&A got kicked out.

- Stern runs to WNEW boss Ken Stevens and "warns" him about O&A and tried to get them to never talk about Stern. Opie made this claim for years, and Howard confirmed it years later to Sean Hannity. Howard actually admitted he did this. Howard remained free to bash O&A on his show, which he did, but he rarely mentioned them by name, to keep them in obscurity.

May 2000 - Howard keeps trashing O&A without mentioning them by name, while O&A have been very vocal about the fact that they can't mention Howard's name without being threatened by their bosses.

December 2000 - Stern's dopey daughter overdoses on X at rival station Z-100 Christmas concert called Jingle-Ball. She was only 14 years old. Divorced Howie had to go all the way to Long Island to yell at Deborah. O&A read the story on-air. This was the climax of the feud, in my eyes, as it was the perfect irony... Howard attacked Wease's daughter in the 80's, 20 years later Wease's protege got his shots in and mocked Howard's daughter, which made Howard furious.

January 2001 - O&A come back from Christmas vacation told if they fuck up again or mention Howard they are fired on the spot. O&A go 2 years doing a show that improves in quality despite the addition of Jim Norton. Opie continues to carry the grudge against Howard for how he tries to neuter their show, and his past with Wease. The HYPOCRISY being the worst part. Anthony usually lays back like a total pussy scared for his job not mentioning Howard.

April 2002 - Stern stole and copied vernacular like "balloon knot" and a few song parodies he aired with O&A's voices laughing over the song DIRECTLY from their show, and they couldn't mention it. O&A tried to talk about him by calling him "Radio Edit." Stern steals another song parody and the idea of satirizing the new show "MTV Cribs" that O&A were already doing with their own retards. O&A do call this out on the air despite the gag order.

August 2002 - WNEW fires O&A, which Howard celebrates and convinces Infinity to keep them under contract so they cannot compete directly against him in mornings for another company. Howard's strategy was to keep O&A off radio so their names cooled off. This is known to be a fact because Infinity proposed releasing O&A from their contract in 2002 if they signed a waiver agreeing to never, in perpetuity, ever mention Stern or any Infinity employee by name anywhere. They of course did not sign this dopey agreement and just sat out the contract.

August 2004 - O&A sign with XM and their first live show back happens on October 2004... 2 days after their first show, Howard announces that he has signed with SIRIUS Satellite.
- Anthony finally starts ranting about Howard now that there will be no repercussions to his career.

January 2006 - O&A mock Stern's other daughter for doing some horrible play, airing the audio

There was a hilarious moment that made a few compilations. During O&A's NYC years one of them, or a member of their show, was at a restaurant for lunch. And Jackie Martling was there eating lunch with a business partner. And they heard Jackie trash Howard nonstop at lunch and refer to Howard as a piece of shit and a liar and cheap asshole because they were sitting at the next table over. And Jackie had no idea that they could hear him clearly. This was during Jackie's last year on the show most likely so late 2000 or early 2001 maybe when this happened.

There are tons of other moments between O&A and Stern. Things like obliterating Scott Ferral's first shows on Sirius (which lead to Howard banning O&A from playing all audio from channels after the merger). Patrice doing Howard's show, as well as other O&A comics when O&A were off the air for Sex for Sam 3, and realizing that Stern was not a good host. Patrice and others basically said on O&A that Howard couldn't let you be the "funniest person in the room". Howard also forgot Patrice's name and referred to him as "the guy with the dildos". You have the Stern Fan Walkover incident as well which became yet another show that O&A had to remove permanently from replays (for legal reasons most likely).

You also have Dominic Barbara and Anthony's ex-wife and the divorce which could be put into your timeline. Including Dominic one day out of the blue showing up to Anthony's house to apologize to him in person. Stern mentioned Anthony's divorce trial a lot on air and threatened to interview Jennifer a few times but never did. One of Anthony's stipulations for their divorce was that Jennifer was not allowed to talk about him in the media. And he was not allowed to talk about certain aspects of their marriage as well. Like when Anthony would tell stories of his wedding night he couldn't legally talk about if they had had sex (the implication being that he passed out drunk, and she maybe had sex with someone else, Joe?).

You could also add in Jackie doing O&A after his retirement from Stern. And Artie doing Anthony's Compound Show before abruptly leaving. There is also the Stern Intern lawsuit that dragged a few O&A interns into it where both shows got dressed down by management.

More? Pat Cooper's falling out with Howard and him doing a show on Sirius where management threatened O&A and that entire saga. Dice and Ian Halperin had some issues with Stern that they aired out on O&A. Opie was given Howard's Sirius and Sirius-XM broadcast schedules by someone on Stern's team and posted them to the internet to goof on Howard and show his fans how little radio he was actually doing. Tim Sabean's involvement with both shows could be its own saga including the bathroom shitting and Sabean lying to both Howard and Opie repeatedly to their faces and digging his grave over and over. Leno having Norton on because he was an O&A comic was a slight at Stern. Tom Chiusano worked with both Stern and O&A and seemed to hate O&A on a personal level.

People will probably think of more.

Does anyone remember when Howard tried to confront someone at SIRIUS on air once, and the guy basically disarmed Howard by agreeing with him? Howard came back into the studio defeated, in a funny way, and when he was talking about how bad it went he blurted out "Opie and Anthony would still fight with me at least..." and Robin said "I don't even know if they would at this point."

It was kind of a wholesome moment in a weird way, like if they wanted to bury their beef that would have been the time to do so.

Howard is a "good host" and a "great interviewer" only when the subject of the interview is, in his eyes, a star. To Stern, Patrice O'Neal was just a weird curiosity, a freak he could goof on and mine for laughs. Howard only respects those he deems successful.

Opie altercations with stern staffers in the bathroom.
Jim norton interviewing bababoey on his shit advice show...worm.
an alleged WOW sticker incident where a fan stuck it on one of sterns limos.
Howard keeping guests long thus preventing them from goin to o and a. Also outright forbaying others from going there
Crazy cabbie running to XM alleging to O&A that he had a sex tape of Howard after he was banned from the show for making a porno in Howard's studio with Ron Jeremy.
The high pitch eric saga when he would call into o and a frequently making terroristic threats that led to a lawsuit or some kind of legal action.

iirc Alex Bennett was 'the bold guy with pepperoni tits' from Sirius Left, who was upset about their number of TVs & then prevented O&A from playing his audio. In the end they acted-out the transcript with erock & someone else, Stern was praised & O&A were called copycats during this tirade.

my own autism surprises me sometimes.

I just listened to Ian on Howard yesterday and it’s surprising how seriously they take him as opposed to OnA being combative with him. Stern was always a celebrity obsessed gossip hag.

I remember Opie said he ran into Fred at his gym, and Fred was a complete gentleman. He then said the same about Artie.

There's so much information in this thread I didn't even know about, @DMAN . Like the daughter OD'ing on X, my guess is that's his oldest? The same one who did the Madonna Kaballah play?

The quickest way for me to consider you an utter bellend is knowing you're a bad parent, and I've always considered Howard to be one of the worst. Never seemed to take any part in being a father, let alone truly enjoying it.

No wonder your marriage collapsed, you Scores whore-mongering pillock.

The best part is, they went after 2 different daughters. The two older girls were the ones they went after. His third daughter was still a toddler at this time, I believe. At least she was in the movie in 1997. So only 3 years after that.
