1. Edward Kramer, a respected member of the SFWA, was convicted of molesting 3 boys in 2001. In 2017, he was convicted again after taking pornographic pictures of children at a doctors office. Then, once again in 2019, Kramer was convicted for possession of child pornography. After Kramer was convicted for his third time in 2019, the SFWA did not revoke his membership or remove him from the group. In fact, many SFWA members including president Mary Robinette Kowal, started a legal defense fund for Edward Kramer. The SFWA publicly supported and raised defense money for a man who had been abusing children for decades and was being convicted for child pornography. Just consider that for a second.
2. One of the most famous members of the SFWA, a female author named Marion Zimmer Bradley, sexually abused her daughter Moria Greyland for decades. Marion, along with her husband Walter H. Breen, who was a convicted child rapist, both subjected Moria Greyland to years of sexual and physical abuse. To this day, the SFWA has refused to acknowledge these crimes, and even honors the memory Marion Zimmer Bradley and Walter H Breen every year, and celebrates their lives. Moria Greyland wrote about her torturous childhood in the book "The Dark Side Of Avalon".
3. In 2013 the SFWA named Samuel Delaney as their Grand Master. Samuel Delaney is an author best known for his disturbing and violent novels that often feature stories with graphic descriptions of murder, child molestation, incest, coprophilia, coprophagia, urolagnia, anal-oral contact, necrophilia and rape. His most famous book, titled Hogg, is a story about a child sex slave being raped and tortured. The SFWA adores this man and his vile, repulsive writing.
4. Many SFWA members, including outspoken author Patrick Tomlinson, were close friends with Peter Bright, aka 'Dr Pizza', a journalist who frequently mocked and criticized anti-pedophilia activists. In 2019, Peter Bright was arrested in a sting operaration while attempting to solicit sex from a child. Instead of denouncing him, many SFWA members including Patrick simply swept the controversy under the rug by deleting any tweet conversations they had with Dr. Pizza. To this day, nobody in the SFWA has acknowledged the arrest of Peter Bright.
