I have no idea what this is about but it's 50 minutes long and apparently Delaney is important enough to have an event for where people can hear what he has to say. He is still a gross old man who loves oatmeal and sodomy but he probably doesn't touch on that.

Quite possibly THE greatest science fiction short story writer of all time, Harlan Ellison, on Samuel Delaney.

Harlan Ellison was great. When the video game adaptation of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream was being made, he wanted the game to be intentionally unbeatable. The developers wouldn't allow it, though. It's a pretty cool game that's borderline unwinable anyway.

> Ellison was presented with a special committee award at the 2006 Hugo Awards ceremony. When Ellison got to the podium, presenter Connie Willis asked him "Are you going to be good?" When she asked the question a second time, Ellison put the microphone in his mouth, to the crowd's laughter. He then placed his hand on her breast during an embrace.[94][95][96] Ellison subsequently complained that Willis refused to acknowledge his apology.[94]

I used to have a collection of all his published short stories and one just starts with a paragraph of racial slurs with no context.

You ever see a dead dog by the side of the road that's in the pulsating with maggots phase of decomposition? This fuck gives me the same feeling. It's worth noting that nobody here ever calls him a nigger because he's so revolting it would be a disservice to blacks.

Whoops. . .

Support of Ed Kramer

[edit source]
Ellison voiced strong support for Ed Kramer, founder of Dragon Con, after Kramer was accused of sexual abuse of children in 2000.[91] Ellison and others disputed the evidence against Kramer, and also alleged Kramer was being held in jail in violation of his right to a speedy trial.[92]

When writer Nancy A. Collins spoke up against Kramer, Ellison led a long-standing feud against her before Kramer entered an Alford plea in 2013.[93]
Just another pedophile-supporting sci fi author.
