I just realized something funny about Pat's lawsuit against the MPD. He's accusing them of wrongdoing because they handled calls to his house according to their established process, which is actually one of the best defenses you can make against wrongdoing.
"Your honor, they handled calls to my house correctly according to their protocol, and that was wrong. They should have detected that this was a special circumstance and invented a completely new protocol."
I'm not sure if there's any precedent for other police departments doing anything like this, which is the sort of thing you would want if you actually want to win the case, but in the absence of that he is able to cast himself as the leading expert in swatting.
He's going to lose this case, but he'll try to salvage a victory out of it by saying that he was trying to establish some sort of precedent and that he is already consulting with police departments as the Most Swatted Man (link to Daily Beast article) and leading expert on the subject, about how to correctly handle these situations.
He probably sees from Jackie how easy it is to pretend to be an expert on something that no one else cares about, and he sees that his writing career is over, so he'll jump on this grift.
