I would say Federal hacking charges qualify for a disbarment hearing, but Quasi would probably need to press charges to it to stick.

- Quasi gets this over with and gets his legal fees paid and an agreement of no further action from Fatass or the SFWA (or whoever is paying Fatass’ bills). Quasi is the man.
- Fatso gets to sign an NDA and feel like a big boy. Due to the settlement being sealed, he can claim victory even though he lost. When challenged, he can correctly (and obesely) point to the NDA
- Bresto is the big winner because Minc still gets paid but his alleged illegal use of hacked information, his prevarications to Ashley, and any other chicanery related to the LOLsuit is swept away. His legal ‘career’ survives to wipe more predators’ records from the internet, endangering children and future victims…but hey, he gets paid so he doesn’t care.

The pieces seem to fit. We may or may not know more in a week. Thoughts?

I still think the NDA is just a shitty TV appearance. Piggy is pot committed now. He will owe the SFWA plus interest if he loses. I don't think he looks for an exit strategy that saves him face, I think he adopts a "I have to win at all costs, it's the only way I don't lose everything" mentality.

This way he can make it sound like he won but oink that he can’t discuss what happened. Pig loves to be vague which is what an NDA will allow. We’ve seen how he lies online yet admits to a reporter off the record that the case was dead from day 1 and has just been a massive waste of time and money. This way he can claim he won and that his place was vandalized even though it’s obvious he’s the person on the camera.

Yeah, I said in an earlier thread that if something like that were to happen, he'd respond to every claim that he lost the suit with "I didn't lose, that case was settled", but I really don't see how he can afford it. Dipshit isn't exactly putting money away for the sake of safety, he's constantly buying expensive toys and going on vacations outside the country. Being on the hook for legal fees will cramp that already tough sell of "I'm a successful author". He hasn't listened to his lawyers yet through this thing, he'll keep going until the SFWA cuts him off I think.

Skepticism regarding Quasi's plans and motives is normal, but at this point I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt here based on what he's done for us so far.

The NDA could be for anything, it could be a No Daughters Allowed form for all we know.

Exactly, he doesn’t see the SFWA as real money because he’s been spending other peoples money for years. He’s been told by his lawyers many times to not engage the trolls only to say he’s an expert at responding to trolls. He believes he’s a very special and important person and believes the whole “pay back lost court cases” doesn’t apply to him. Even then he will just go to Niki’s mom because it’s always other peoples money to Pat.

Yeah, I don't know why he or anyone else acts like SFWA isn't going to come around looking for their shit back. I’m not saying Quasi agreed to shut down the site though. He has been a warrior and i would never question his motives or judgment. We all owe him for standing up for free speech. I’m speculating that he won- site stays, no more vexatious litigation, fees paid - and in exchange he agrees to sign an NDA about the settlement. It gives Piggy a way to avoid total legal annihilation and lets Bresto meekly limp away without risking his bar card. I just want to be clear that I’m grateful to Quasi and think he’s as handsome as he is courageous.
