These people are desperate for any type of attention or clout. Their regular social posts get literally no engagement so something like this that gets them just a few dozen likes has them at the top of the world swimming in dopamine.
Also I would not be surprised if this didn't happen at all like she's describing, which is another reason why she's not mentioning a name. You're not allowed to get questioned when you talk like this so they're allowed to embellish or be vague. When the stuff about Neil Gaiman came out there were so many women who said E-Rock vaguery stuff like "I had to deal with him at such-and-such a conference" with zero details and people lining up to offer their "I'm so sorry you had to deal with that" condolences.
