I put it aside for now. It's way too much work for one person. You'd have to work out many flexible systems and come up with tons of content on top of it. I started something much simpler. Something that hasn't got to do anything with Patrick. After all there's a lawsuit going on. In the game, you'll play a black child who has to escape from a basement, being hunted by a pig monster that wants to turn you into pepperoni.

May I suggest a sort of jelly-like Blob MMonster Schill.
There was supposed to be a jelly-like Blob M.M.Onster in the RPG that you could recruit for your party:

For the simpler game I can only imagine her as a blob whose head randomly leaks out of pipes and screams when seeing you, alerting the pig. She won't show up in the first demo though. It will just be get from A to B without the Pig catching you. The level editor doesn't put in doors and stairs and hiding places (boxes) yet, but the stages will be looking something like this, very uncomplicated, much better suited for my laziness:

damn that sucks. i was willing to help you out too. it's a shit load of work when you're doing it all on your own. it took me three months for finish eat em and beat em game but most of that time was spent working on the art. an RPG is hard to make in general, but if you kept the scope small (turn based with a fixed set of actions and no upgrades) it could've been done.

a more efficient alternative would've been to use RPG maker (https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/). a lot of basic top down RPG systems are already implemented. you just need to add in your custom sprites and do a little scripting for combat and narrative events.
