That is still stupid because it doesn’t work like that. People can hope the country they live in becomes better after they’re gone whether they have kids or not. Hell, almost every President in modern history, even the ones people would say were terrible and evil, had biological children.
It also doesn’t look good when JD Vance then says this was sarcasm, or he was only talking about people who CAN have kids but don’t. Even he doesn’t know what he was talking about, or he does and is trying to lessen its impact.
Either way none of this matters because perception is greater than reality. People think he’s shitting on childless people? Then he is, wether he ACTUALLY is or not.
