At least he got paid for it. Once Artie left he started pandering to the gays because he was on that AGT TV show that all the gays and women watch. The he quietly tried to erase all his old shows that were problematic. Im actually surprised he hasnt got more flack for his past. Do people even listen to him anymore. Id imagine he only does a couple shows a week and probably has most of the year off if he kept trimming his schedule back every new contract like he used to.

Radio doesn't seem real to people. Louis CK admitted to a ton of weird masterbation stuff, including in front of a retarded girl, on O&A but it only hurt him years later when the New York Times reported on him. Imus got fired, but that probably had a lot to do with his show also being on MSNBC. The stuff Opie and Ant were fired for all happened in the real world: a church, Twitter, and bathroom -- all places more important than a radio show.

Like @wbgreen said, not only is radio not real to people, no one gives a fuck about it. Theres a lot of context.
First lets talk about cancel culture because it relies on four things:
1.) Retards on Twitter who say they’re offended for outrage clicks and attention.
2.) A media that realizes it can get clicks, and ad revenue, by reporting (insert celebrity) did (insert bad thing).
3.) An audience to react to said celebrity doing whatever bad thing. This is key because the media isn’t gonna report on something no one cares about and thus won’t read.
4.) A company then reacts to all three aforementioned things and lays consequences on the offender.
So does Howard have any of these things? Flat out fucking no. No one on Twitter is going to dig up him doing blackface because no one else on Twitter knows who he is. Then no one media outlet is going to report on it, because finally, his audience doesn’t exist and doesn’t give a shit. And SXM is probably looking for ways to get rid of Howard to cut costs anyway.
The people that listen now compromise of mainly 3 groups:
1.) Soccer moms who remember when Howie was the dildo machine guy and feel edgy for listening to his boring interviews.
2.) Random Howard sycophants, if they even still exist.
3.) Casual listeners or subscribers to SiriusXM who manage to land on the channel.
There are no hardcore Howard listeners anymore. They may be fans but they don’t listen. So of those three demographics, none of them are primed to give a shit about Howards old antics. The soccer moms remember it, the Howard sycophants loved that part of him, and the casual listeners aren’t gonna cancel SXM or boycott.
In terms of, “Well how did he get these mainstream roles? Wouldn’t Hollywood tiptoe around a guy they fear could get torpedoed for his past?” Well, not really. Because that’s what Hollywood brought him in for. He was supposed to be the “Simon Cowell asshole” of AGT and instead he was a dry unoffensive weeping faggot. So even the people employing him know thats what they’re bringing him in for, so anyone who doesn’t like it can fuck off.
