I allways enjoyed his standup sets more than the vast majority of comedians but I tried watching his shows when they were on TV and felt the same. He did another one that was just called Louis and it was the same show but uncancelled because he got more traction.

I have to agree. As boring and awful and pretentious as Horace and Pete was, I was at least able to sit through the whole thing. I could not get more than 20 minutes into I Love You, Daddy. He's so obviously trying to be Woody Allen (the king of pretentious, awful, unfunny trash), and mid- to late-period Woody Allen at that. Imagine trying to pretentiously imitate a horrible filmmaker's shittiest era and you have I Love You, Daddy.
