It seems to be a mixture of narcissism, anger from his first marriage, undeserved ego from his blue check and being unemployed for around a decade that created the fat psycho we see today. I was once laid off for a short time and it really messes with your head when you’re not working. You feel like less of a man and embarrassed to even be around other people. He has to tell everyone around him he’s an author (yet without a contract and barely selling any books it’s not even a part time job) to the point he HAS to bring his laptop to sit at busy bars so everyone can see he’s important. The damage from not working for a decade will make you insane.
