I think that part of it was Ukraine and funding fatigue, and a lot of it was faith lost in the Democratic Party when their previous candidate proved to be a shambling corpse with dementia who couldn't even finish his first term.

That worked out for Biden in 2020, not so much for Kamala. Kamala needed to campaign hard given she came into the race so late after they forced Biden out. The problem is Kamala preferred to stay out of the spotlight and she was toasted when she was visible which made her a stuttering mess. That and the few policies that were presented were a massive turn off to key voters for her. The massive israel/Gaza discussion going on really screwed her. A sizeable part of the lefts issue voters are humanitarian softies who don't want to support Israel's genocidal disposition towards the former natives in the area. The abortion block just couldn't carry her across the finish line with the other factions of the left being oppositional. Then the whole "were going to pay for prisoners to go on HRT and get' gender affirming care'" thing screwed her out of the moderates. The proposed unrealized gains tax killed her chances with the affluent liberals. It's really just abortion voters and the die hard party followers like Pat that were Pokémon going to the polls for this shrill dunce who, like the worm, just fills whatever container she's poured into by her handlers.

Actually, in most civilized countries this last election cycle, the incumbent party lost. In the US, somehow the rubes were able to overlook the fact that the Orange Man sent his hoards to attack the Capitol Police and Congress and they firmly believe a failed casino "mogul" with multiple bankruptcies can fix the economy. It's amazing really to watch how stupid Americans are.

She ran pro-Gaza ads in Michigan to appeal to Muslims and pro-Israel ads for Jews in Pennsylvania, and thought no one would notice. Even CNN had to call her out on it.

No one wants a cunt of a woman in office no matter the alternative. For all Trumps faults he is palatable both to those that adore and hate him. He's also somewhat consistent unlike Kamala who undermined her own experience and choices during her time as VP and backtracked on prior stances to appear more aligned with what the party thought their base wanted. Not to mention her stealing Trump campaign promises like the tax less tips for service workers. All of that combined with the partisan pearl clutching like your post made sure those on the fence either stayed home or voted for the party that was united in their support for their candidate.
