A few years back, I went to a benefit show featuring a bunch of awful metal cover bands. It was like an outdoor biker-type thing, with the vendors and a beer tent and etc. Florentine was the host, and he did some of his bits between bands. It was all mindless nostalgic reminiscing about Trans Ams, chicks with big hair and tight jeans, and crappy old music. "Remember when you'd pick up some slut named Lori in your Trans Am, with Ozzy blasting from the tape deck, and you'd drink beer and smoke dirt weed in the woods with the gang?"...that kind of shit. I don't think the majority of the crowd had any idea who he was. And I kind of wished I didn't either.
