I thought they have been married longer for some reason. So she has been dealing with Pat sperging out over internet trolls for 75% of their marriage. Also he has been surfing on the couch for over 2 years so it seems she booted him out of the bed not long after they got married. Being on a budget is fine but i looked it up and they probably spent $1500 on the delorean and probably less than that for everything else combined.

The half-hovel is in Niki's name exclusively and was probably bought by mommy What other lifelines does he have? What friends would let him crash on their couches for a couple weeks? He might end up in a homeless shelter.

Unfortunately Niki is like one of those Lifetime movie wives who stand by their shitty husbands because women are emotional or whatever. You have no children and your fat husband sleeps on the couch after a long, unproductive day of fighting with people on the internet. It's not like Niki lives in some tiny fishing village, there's loads of single men (women?) in Milwaukee.

Didn’t someone find out she was married once before? It would explain their cheap wedding (brides family said no to a second nice event) and also why she didn’t take his name since thats a real pain the ass to change. The second marriage for Niki makes sense because she doesn’t want to divorce again making her a two time loser. She avoids being with him in public sober because it reminds her how awful Pat is. She looks miserable with him when she’s sober and doesn’t want to be 41 and single AGAIN.
