I should also mention that someone from Reddit may or may not have filled out the contact form on the SFWA website with links to the case and explained to them that the lawsuit is dead, it was dead on arrival, and Patrick has absolutely no way of paying back the loan and will most likely file for bankruptcy to avoid paying - and that in the future they should have one of their own lawyers look over these cases at the borrower's expense to ensure that they aren't funding a litigious dumpster fire.

I bet, he grifted a large chunk of their legal fund with no intention of paying back if he lost and will probably weasel his way out of being held accountable for it too. I wouldnt be surprised if there isnt much left in their reserves after this. I hope they never want to do anything involving him again.
