I remember getting really sad when you find out he isn't real or even important. It was well done. Just really long. It's a movie that probably made a drunker me cry.
It was definitely long. I remember strategically finding a moment where I could run and take a piss.

Pretty much none of the first list and pretty much all of the second.

I've been forced to sit through The Notebook like 30 times and I couldn't tell you what the fuck happens in it. I think Ryan Gosling gets mega-cucked but it's all okay in the end because he gets the broad when she's all old as fuck but then he immediately dies. This is what women think true love is.

The only movie would have been the first Hunger Games. I watched the first one but none after that.

Rashomon, The Great Escape, Rocky, Seven Samurai, M, Unforgiven, Double Indemnity (ESPECIALLY this one), The Thing, Once Upon A Time in The West and For A Few Dollars More are not fag movies.

The rest? Yeah, sure.
Paths of Glory is probably the best movie on that list and you didn't include it. For shame.

I have a confession to make... I've never been a huge fan of Kubrick, or Kirk Douglas.

I know as a cinema snob that's complete blasphemy. And I can't explain it. I just... I feel Kubrick's smugness just bleeding through all of his movies. And keep in mind, I KNOW Chris Nolan is a self indulgent cunt who inhales his own farts, but his movies don't really show it.

As for Douglas, short of Spartacus (ironic as that too is a Kubrick film, albeit a work for hire one that he disowned), I just never was a big fan of him. Great guy from all accounts, and I think his son is a great actor, but he is low on my list.

And also? War movies aren't a favorite genre of mine. If Garth Ennis heard that, I'm sure he'd string me up in a hangman's knot.
