So I just did a little reading on Cat's career. She had 2 short stories published (basically the minimum for an SFWA associate membership ) spent the next over a decade just doing internal politics for the SFWA, and once she got enough power in it started actually publishing works, because, you know, now she gets your association fees and who doesn't want to read the president of the SFWAs exciting "Stargate"-like fiction? Quality scam.
