According to the standard view, some 1000 years after the supposed crucifixion of Christ, Western man suddenly felt an overwhelming appetite to avenge his death, and free the Holy Land from Muslim control.

“In fact, the evidence as a whole shows that the Crusade was originally an anti-Semitic rather than a theological movement, popular rather than an ecclesiastical war.”

Taking Edwin Johnson’s lead, I found that these wars were in-fact a last ditch effort to reassert Rome’s Imperial authority, and only afterwards did this league of nobles and priests begin to lay the foundations for Christendom. Crucially, the origins and effects of the Crusades can only be understood once we accept Johnson’s radical claim that the religion of Islam came first, followed by Judaism, and then Christianity.

Islam is older than Christianity (mostly a post-crusades/rennaisance corruption) or judism (mostly post moorish spain/talmudic 15-16th century corruption).

Adam and Eve were Muslims.

Crusades was a European primitive colonialism.

The average Muslim is much more devout and traditional than the average American Christian. They don’t pick and choose what to believe like everyone else. There’s no, “I bet God doesn’t actually care about this even though the Bible explicitly forbids it. I have better judgment than the word of God.” The word is the word for those people for real

Christianity truly feels like a cosplay/jealous/autist version of Islam. No way did it came before it. The "nasara" mentioned in the quran are not modern day Christians. The "yahood" are not modern day Jews (talmudists).

As for OP, yes Muslim eyewitness accounts had good opinions of Richard's fighting prowess and mettle, but they also mentioned the lack of medical knowledge etc when he succumbed to a fever, a Muslim doctor sent by Saladin cured him.

It's easy to be "pious" when you'll be killed for apostasy. It's like saying prisoners are much better at following a routine than free people.

Why didnt millions of Turks get killed when they voluntarily chose to dismantle the Ottoman Caliphate in favor of the secular Republican Kemal Atatürk?
